Wiki Submission Sites: 50+ High Authority Sites for SEO & Backlinks

Wikipedia submission is an online content and information-sharing process used to create or contribute to encyclopedia-style articles about notable topics, businesses, people, organizations, products, and other subjects. Wikipedia is one of the world’s most recognised knowledge platforms, where content is expected to be factual, neutral, independently sourced, and supported by reliable references.

For digital marketers and website owners, understanding Wikipedia submission guidelines is important before attempting to create or edit an article. Wikipedia is not designed as a traditional advertising or link-building website, so promotional content, keyword stuffing, self-promotion, and unsupported claims can result in content being edited or removed. A proper Wikipedia contribution should provide useful information to readers rather than directly promoting a business or service.

Wikipedia-related activities may include researching a topic, preparing properly referenced information, improving existing articles, adding reliable citations, correcting factual information, and contributing useful content to relevant discussions. External websites should only be referenced when they provide genuinely useful and reliable information for the subject.

For SEO professionals such as Rajesh Verma, Wikipedia can be studied as part of a broader content and authority-building strategy. However, SEO benefits should never be the primary reason for creating a Wikipedia article. A strong online presence is better supported through a combination of high-quality content, reputable publications, relevant citations, digital PR, and ethical SEO practices.

Before submitting or editing any Wikipedia content, contributors should carefully review Wikipedia’s notability, neutrality, conflict-of-interest, citation, and external-link guidelines. Following these principles helps ensure that contributions are useful, transparent, and more likely to meet the platform’s editorial standards.
